Lanarkshire Attachment and Nuture Service (LANS)
Who we are
Lanarkshire Attachment and Nurture Service (LANS): Established April 2014. Early Years intervention and support service to young children and their parents/carers.
Barnardo's vision is that the lives of all children and young people should be free from poverty, abuse, and discrimination.
Barnardo's believes that all children, young people, and families have a right to:
-
Have a positive family life.
-
Enjoy emotional, physical and mental health.
-
Be safe from harm.
-
Have opportunities to learn, enjoy and achieve.
-
Belong and contribute to their communities.
Barnardo's has been working in early years in Lanarkshire via their Young Families Support Service which offers the opportunity for young parents to gain confidence in the way they connect and interact with their babies and young children, along with increasing participation within the wider local community.
In response to issues and needs highlighted from this work Barnardo's has developed the Lanarkshire Attachment and Nuture Service (LANS) investing further in the early years throughout the Lanarkshire area by offering support to Parents with a child or children aged 0-5 years. In addition, pre birth support and planning can also be provided.
